We booked the place through expedia.ca, it was rated very high. The hotel said it had 24hr service desk, so we called in advance for our late arrival as we were driving for far, everything was ok. Upon arriving at 1am, we were walked to our room, there were lots of mosquitoes and bugs outside our room (which is ok) as the villa is surrounded by farm land. However, as we were about to freshen up, a bug crawled out from under the bed side table. We killed it! Two minutes later, another bug appeared from the other side of the table! Before we knew it, we had killed 4-5 bugs! Being creeped out, my partner started to look in the closet and under the bed! Under the bed we found a large spider web right underneath my pillow area! In the closet we found a spider!!
We knew we could not sleep in this room even if we tried. So at 1:30am, we went to the front desk and told the guy. He came with us, and looked at all the dead bugs. He picked up the dead bugs with his hand and said "dead?" and we said yes we just killed them! We told him we would rather sleep in our car at this moment. He offered us another room, at this point we did not want to deal with another infested room and worry about bugs crawling around us! So we left! He did not apologize for the condition of the room and almost sounded as if that was a normal thing to have bugs all over!
Called expedia at 3am to get the refund! Got our money back, slept in the car at a nearby gas station. Super tired for next 2 days!
