While this was a four-star hotel, it did not feel so. A particular set of women working the front desk were not hospitable at all. Upon arrival, they informed me that I would be able to check in within the hour. I was not offered coffee, tea, or even water during my wait even. I walked around Rome searching for something to eat. Then, arriving back at 2:00pm (the written check-in time), they informed me I would still need to wait for clarification my room was clean. As I sat there, I watched them show a family of eight to their rooms (who had arrived after me). Then, after waiting fifteen minutes, they finally showed me to my room. The reception did not apologize for the wait nor did they seem hospitable at all. The employee who showed me to my room and transported my suitcase was kind. The workers at the breakfast were kinder and a bit more hospitable as well. Some things to note are that the beds were not comfortable nor was the location ideal. However, the rooms were clean and the maids performed their jobs well. The reception, as mentioned, was not warm nor friendly and instead spoke quite condescendingly on multiple occasions.
