I stayed in this motel once before on my first driving trip from Phoenix to Alaska. The rooms are clean, spacious, with free wifi, nice amenities, and very friendly owners. 11 months later, they remembered me, and asked after my dog and wife. On this occasion, I ran into terrible winter driving conditions including an hour delay while 3 jack knifed tractor trailers were towed to the top of an extremely icy hill. I called the hotel in a panic, it was then 11:00 PM and I still had 150 miles of white out conditions to drive, after the road reopened. The proprietor told me not to worry. I finally arrived at 3:30, strung out and exhausted. The proprietor answered the door right away, she had been waiting in the back for me to arrive. I was checked in, and fast asleep in a comfortable bed 15 minuets after knocking on their door. I hope you never have to drive the mountain pass between Fort St. John and Fort Nelson in the winter, at night. If you do, and decide to call it a night in Fort Nelson, I hope you remember this story and the kindness of these owners when deciding where to stay for the night.
