Nostalgic roadside motel. Inside the rooms have been completely renovated but kept their charm of mismatched furniture and little quirks. The owner personally welcomed me and walkes me to my room, opened the door, and turned on the lights and fan. Great service. Location is key. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just minutes from Linville Falls, with Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, and other natural escapes nearby. If you dont need the fancy hotels that cost much more, this place is exactly what you are looking for. I will be staying here every time I visit the area.

This lodge is family owned and they were extremely nice. They made us feel welcome and provided all help we needed. They are working on remodeling but you can tell they working hard to restore this nostalgic lodge.

My son and I (and two dogs) stayed here for one night during a road trip for hiking. From reading the old reviews it seems like the new owners have really been putting in hard work to bring this place back to life; they are still working on it but everything was clean and amenities have been upgraded from previous photos such as flat screen tv with plenty of satellite channels and a ceiling fan with a remote (which I had to take a picture of because I loved it and want to find one for myself). If you want fancy and new this isn't the place for you but if you are like me and enjoy the motels with midcentury history but modern upgrades, it's a great stay. They accommodated my dogs for a lower pet fee than anywhere else and the customer service couldn't have been any better. I'd definitely stay again.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was wonderful for what i needed. The owner was very helpful and even had complementary waters and soda’s in the main office. My only complaint was that the air in the room was a little damp so towels did not dry very well and the room seemed oddly wet but it did not disrupt my stay.

It's a clean place the people are very helpful and friendly that own it. The grass out in front of the cabins needs attention especially because of being dog friendly. Small dogs have problems walking through uncut high grass. The owners do try to help you with anything you might need. Would I stay here again, yes if I come this way again.
