Very clean and quiet motel, you get what you pay for so don't expect a modern hotel room with modern accoutrement, but it's right on the highway and a great bargain.

Will absolutely be returning. Great location. The only thing I could suggest is cleaning the skylight windows regularly! Absolutely loved these additions but would’ve loved to see the stars at night and daytime lighting would be immaculate. Regardless, I will definitely be back

The lodge property is old time rustic, which was what we were looking for in the mountains. We made good use of the kitchenette in our room. Sauna, large hot tub and large indoor pool were very clean and relaxing. We will visit again and bring our grandsons next time. Authentic vintage North Carolina lodge.

I usually stay at the Smoketree Lodge when Im visiting the High Country. It is conviently located on Hwy 105 near Boone and the Avery county ski slopes. The staff are courteous and the rates are affordable. It also boasts an indoor pool and jacuzzi which is primo for after ski relaxing.

The property is old and dated, but was nice. They have an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, with a great view of the mountain. The lobby is nice, and the grills outside were nice because of the garden area.
