Wrong Room
Unfortunately we were given a twin room, with two separate beds despite booking a double bed. The TV was tiny and in a far off corner, so pretty much pointless even being there. The staff were often difficult to find and were unhelpful with our issues with the room. The only redeemable quality about our stay was the breakfast, which was quite nice, with a wide selection of foods on offer.

2/10 Poor

The staff very friendly but room was disappointing as was 2 singles in the room so we had to push together . It stated a double bed. Tv didn’t work couldn’t get any channels . Parking was very tight although ok. We did not see landlord or landlady as standing staff checked us in on arrival.

Visit to York
Conveniently placed, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and an excellent selection of ales.

Over night stay
The staff were very friendly and it was good to have on site parking. Location was central. We only stayed for 1 night. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but was in need of a bit of an up grade as the carpet looked old and a bit stained. Breakfast was average. Unfortunately our room was over looking a busy road so it was a bit noisy at night. Over it was good value for York in august

8/10 Very good

Arrived 6pm-booked a single room.1st thing to notice was no reception on the tv-went back to the bar and explained a lightning strike had knocked out the power to a lot of places. Room was a little bit smaller than perhaps I’d anticipated and faced the main road, but didn’t really notice tbh Then we come to breakfast-absolutely fantastic and set me up for a long days drinking! The full Yorkshire fully recommended along with several other options to go at plus a selection of muffins, croissants and the lovely packed bakewell bars.More toast available on request and you could order extras on the menu too Nothing was too much trouble

Perfect
Stayed here 3 times now, it is our go-to accommodation in York. Perfectly placed, welcoming, spotlessly clean, fab breakfast, quiet place to sleep, and free parking which is a huge bonus in York. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Great value for money
Nice clean room, breakfast was delicious and plenty of it.
Lydia, 3-night trip

Really nice room. Great bed. Breakfast was good. It was a hot day, so the bottled water was warm to say the least, as there was no fridge. The kit kat biscuit was also just a melted mess. A small fridge would have made all the difference. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Fabulous B&B
Fantastic location, staff really friendly and room was really cosy. The beers and ciders were great and the beer garden well maintained and managed. The breakfast service was wonderful with lots of variety and nothing was a problem for the waiting staff. Would recommend staying here.

Good, value-for-money room
Lovely people who were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good condition. The only issue was the noise. The room was on the street and the traffic noise was a little annoying but I did sleep ok. Good value for £39.
Simon, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

OK for a night.
Single room was small and stuffy and right on the street so suffered from noise even though it has secondary double glazing. Traffic and shouting kept me awake until after 11 p.m. and woke me back up again at 4.30 a.m. and I am not particularly a light sleeper. The room had the usual tea and coffee (and biscuits) plus a tiny TV. The shower in the ensuite just blasted out scalding hot water. I could see no way of altering the temperature so was

6/10 Good

Entrance to carpark tiny, dark and NOT VERY CLEAR. I had nowhere to park all weekend, as the gates shut at 10pm and I'm a night owl. Carpark only consists of a tiny space anyway... 5 cars maybe... A bit misleading. When i was in the room, the tv signal kept interferring with the picture, so when i logged into the wifi to watch tv on my phone instead... I soon found out the wifi was crap too. I used all my data. However bed was LOVELY. Snugg little room and breakfast nice. Staff super friendly when needed. The wooden keying must come off.it makestoo much noise, getting in...

A great spot.
As previously mentioned in other reviews, the car park is tight, and I mean tight, but safe enough. The breakfast was spot on, and a generous portion.
