room smelled too clean ie bleach
My friend and i stayed under my friends name a few days prior and check in was so smooth but when i checked in it was complicated and i was completely turned off at staying there again. I personally will not but there is nothing bad about it that i wouldn't refer someone else there are just too many hotels for the front desk to make my check in complicated. Part of it was extra forms. When i complained that there is more paper work she said that one info sheet was to sign me up for HiltonHonors which i didn't ask for. The other complication is her attempt to charge me for a 2nd person because i had not noticed that when i booked it on Expedia i did not mark "2 people". We stayed on a Saturday for two people and same room for the same price as a Monday in which she gave me a hard time and charged me for the 2nd person. There is the letter of the law and the spirit of the law and she could have been more HUMAN and realized it was simply an error in checking the box online. Perhaps my lack of observation or their lack of making it noticeable.

The double tree had spacious rooms and was kept clean. We stayed on the 3rd and 1st floor and the 1st floor especially smelled a little moldy. What completely ruined our experience was the fact that my mother and I forgot our winter coats in the closets upon checking out. When we went back looking for them, the front desk dismissed us saying that the lost and found opens at 8am and there was nothing they could do, once we pleaded with them to open the lost & found they said there was no report of coats found in our old room. Once we mentioned we would be writing a review of our experience, the coats magically appeared. I check my pockets for my AirPods and they are not there, I go back to the front desk and they went back to their story of there is no record of any employee finding my AirPods. The front desk seriously needs training in hospitable service to customers, they were dismissive and rude. Nothing was lost in translation and I’m bilingual. I hate to say it but I saw the difference in how European travelers were treated versus how my mother and I (Latinos) were treated. We picked the double tree because we trusted the brand, but clearly corporate management needs to do a better job of training its employees in hospitality. We will be going back to Panama later in the year and will definitely not be staying at the Doubletree.

Customer Service Training Needed
This hotel staff were extremely dismissive of any concerns that were brought to their attention. We were assigned room 502. We arrived late night so in the morning I shared with staff that the bathroom smelled like urine and the floor needed additional cleaning plus the shower and sink were not draining properly causing the shower to pool water to the point that we needed to shower in stages, turning off the water to avoid flooding. The cleaning staff said they would report it. The following morning I reported it again with no resolution. The following day I saw the repair guy in the hall so I asked him to check out the drain. To our surprise when we returned to the room the issue was still not fixed with no explanation left. This is now the 5th day with no resolution. So on the sixth day I reported it again to the front desk and when maintenance responded and evaluated the situation he told me that the problem could not be repaired and it required extensive work and removing the flooring. I went down to the front desk & the front desk supervisor stated "I heard, what do you want to do?" I was appalled that her first reaction wasn't, we apologize profusely for this inconvenience & that it took us 6 days to address it, we will move you immediately. Instead I had to request a new room. They said that they will send someone with the key to the new room. After waiting 4hrs I went back to the front desk & with no apology I was handed keys. I was so happy I only had 1 more night.

Hotel with wear and tear.
Positive impressions Reception (fast and effective), very service minded. Housekeeping very friendly and the rooms where cleaned good/effectively. Attention to details, I was impressed. WIFI- fast simple and effective (great job Hilton) Spacious and nicely furnished rooms Things that can improve! Cable TV....should be HD...but here Hilton have been saving money. Cheapest package with low resolution. Furnitures in the rooms shows some wear and tear. So do not expect perfection. But this is reflected in the price for the rooms, I paid between 60-90 dollars a night. Elevators, only 2 available so almost always a line so it takes 5-10 minutes to move a few floors. Elevators also very small. Ended up that I took the stairs that is good for the health, but for older folks it is annoying. Breakfast, coffee have to be requested??? A waiter will fill up a cup if you are able to get one. Only works if it is little people in the restaurant. When I stayed there it was pretty crowded and I noticed that most people don't got there coffee until after breakfast. Not good. Cleaniness, because of small and slow elevators I took the stairs a lot. There is some kind of routine on this hotel to leave room-service trays with old food in the staircase. This is ok IF they will get picked up within short notice. But after looking on the same trays for a day I could notice flies in the staircase. Not good, hope this will be rectified asap by the hotel.

Not Sleep friendly
I have stayed here a number of nights because of value and location, but they have a terrible policy which started my stay on a negative vibe and left a bad taste in my mouth. I will say first the staff is pleasant and very competent, but could use some customer awareness help. I arrived after a long flight and was in the hotel around 11:00am and was told check-in was at 3. I have never had a problem with a hotel if there was room for a hotel to get me in. What proceeded was a game of poker, bluffing, and secretive of what they had. They proceeded to tell me there was a promotion available, but I just wanted a room to go to after a long flight. I knew they were not anywhere near full the night before from the website, but when I asked the girl said she would "take a look". They said they have a handicap room available, and they could charge me $20 if I wanted to check in now, and they would change rooms after 3. Instead of insisting, I just took the room and was charged $20. DO NOT TAKE A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE ROOM, they are connected to another with an adjoining door that has a gap between the floor and the door and it is like the people next door are in the same room. Maid service begins very early and the noise in the hallway from the loud walkie-talkies prevents you from sleeping late. Music is loud on the floors near the elevator, so if your room is near the elevators you will think you are at a concert. Management needs to learn about customer service
