I agonised over where to book travelling with 3 neurodivergent kids and Nana who had recent surgery. I settled on Palm Beach resort. There was a discrepancy in my booking when I received confirmation, which was sorted via email without issue by the helpful staff. I booked a one bedroom place and was pleasantly surprised that we had two bedrooms. (Thanks so much Palm Beach). The accommodation is in the Waiheke resort grounds and we were able to use their mini golf and pool. The location is very central and it’s easy to get to oneroa, there is a supermarket 5 min drive away. Ther is a bus stop metres from the resort although we didn’t use the bus service. We were attending a wedding at Mudbrick, the resort is about 12 mins drive from mudbrick winery. Palm beach is beautiful and it’s close . The chalets/apartments are separate from each other, so great for kids who sometimes have issues with keeping noise to a minimum! Our accommodation was up a steep path, so if mobility is an issue I would flag that when you book. Our room wasn’t as clean as it could have been, but not so bad we wouldn’t stay again. We would love to return.

I booked this place even though it was a little dearer than Waiheke Resort next door, because the other place had a few bad reviews about check-in only being open between 2-4pm etc, and the bar was closed early etc. So we rocked up at nearly 4pm to check in, and wow it’s the same place!!
