Great place but not the best nights sleep
Lovely place, friendly staff and excellent location
Unfortunately the wall between rooms was so thin I could hear every moment of my neighbour all night. Also the pillows are terrible- made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep.
I appreciate you can’t do anything about the soundproofing in such a lovely old building but the pillows are a very cheep easy fix
Would stay again but not whilst working!

I stayed for only one night and did not partake of everything on offer but was very happy with the room, and cleanliness. The staff should get a special mention because they were all friendly and welcoming

Lovely, warm welcoming pub
We received a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived at the pub. We both loved the character of the building, it's quirkiness and age. We were informed there was a quiz night, which we joined in with. We had a bit of food, and it was lovely. Again friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
The only downside as far as I can say is that the opaque glass in the door for the bathroom was an issue for my autistic daughter, but for most it wouldn't be a problem. Just her preference for privacy.
check out was simple and again a warm welcome when we dropped off the key.

Nice room. Some noise from bins outside in the early morning and walls are thin meaning I heard guests next door. Convenient location

An excellent city centre choice in an historic old coaching inn. The room was comfortable clean and the breakfast good albeit limited to an English breakfast /cereals. Great bar and choice of drinks. A really enjoyable stay and excellent staff.
No parking but everything you need is within a short walk. Restaurants, market, theatre is 2 minutes walk, main shopping street 5 mins stroll.

2nd visit, nice but very noisy room
This place is ok, well placed near the centre of town. It was my second stay here; the first time I had a perfectly nice quiet room towards the back of the building. This time I was in Room #1 which is directly above the bar area and very noisy. I was told the hotel was full and there were no other vacant rooms. If you do stay here, try to ascertain which room you will be given. Otherwise it was fine, I particularly liked the rain-head shower.
