As we have experienced Best Western hotels which were always excellent, I assumed, wrongly The Webbington would be on a par. First of all it should be called ‘Stairs Galore!’ Far too many stairs: the leisure area was well fitted, but if our bedroom was a ‘Superior room!’ I would hate to see what a standard room was like! It was my Birthday, and quite frankly I should have booked a Holiday Inn which would have been 100% better. Whomever the franchisee is who bought the hotel, he knows how to charge without doing anything to support the amount of money for rooms that are not up to speed. The balcony door was completely warped so the bolt didn’t align and door wouldn’t lock. It overlooked a quiet area & I didn’t feel safe. We told reception who responded with: ‘It is safe here, we don’t even have CCTV in the car park!! That didn’t give my husband and me any confidence at all! Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but it doesn’t mean it’s a safe haven! Also in a so-called superior room with a superior price tag there should have been tissues, shower cap, miniature toiletries. There was absolutely nothing at all! Just a measly tiny round soap & 2 half filled shower gel & wash. The bathroom windows were horrid, & needed to be replaced. So I was very disappointed.
