Pleasant Stay, But Some Serious Cleanliness Issues
I recently stayed at the Royal View Hotel after booking a deal through Expedia. While the hotel has some definite positives, there were also significant drawbacks that affected my experience.
Let's start with the positives. The hotel is in a great location—close to downtown, Disney, and the airport, which was very convenient for my trip. The property itself is attractive, and from what I could see of other rooms, they looked quite luxurious. The on-site restaurant was handy, though the breakfast and lunch options were pretty limited. If you plan on using the bus service, be prepared to wait—lines were incredibly long, and I waited up to 45 minutes just to board.
Unfortunately, the room I was given (742) left a lot to be desired. It was shockingly dirty when I checked in, to the point where it seemed like no one had been in the room for a long time, or the cleaning staff simply forgot to make it presentable. There were dirty glasses left in the room, crumbs all over the floor, and the sofa was in such a filthy state—covered in crumbs and dried stains—that I couldn't bring myself to sit on it. This was a big disappointment, and it left me questioning whether I received a subpar room because I booked through Expedia.
If you can be guaranteed a clean room, and you're just looking for a conveniently located place to sleep, the Royal View Hotel might work for you.
