2/10 Poor

Dark , damp and mouldy
Opened the door to the room and instantly smelt damp. There was obviously a water leak in the corner of roof above the tea/coffee tray and plaster on the table and tray it was on. The shower was really mouldy and alot of rust around the shower tap. All in all pretty shabby and how they still allowed the room to be let is shocking. Returned straight to reception and informed them we would not be staying. She was unable to refund the payment i made 2 minutes earlier. Was asked when we checked in if we would be booking for dinner. Thankfully we didnt. If that is an acceptable room what is an acceptable kitchen. Got my refund the next morning after we found another hotel in grantown to stay in at half the price and room and breakfast were excellant. All in all do not believe the images you see and read other reviews as well as ours before booking as we are not alone in our experiance.

Breakfast was cold on the first morning. Waiter knew the entire buffet was could but did not offer to microwave our plates. No maid service during our stay. beds not even made up. I found our the hotels has different coach parties each night so if they need to clean those rooms at the expense of others, I understand but wish this was highlighted before I booked. Shower over bath tub was horrendous to get it switched on. Emergency exit door was open the 3 days of our stay and propped open with a huge brick.

Scottish trip
One night stay before heading to Inverness Airport. Very friendly and helpful receptionist indicating the best time to book a table for evening meal as a coach load was due. Comfy bed and a good shower. Food was excellent.

I had a very weird experience. I got to the property just before two coaches came in. I checked in around 7pm. I was told i needed to eat at 715pm. Whereas I had called earlier to make sure i could get food till later due to time change. The lady over the phone told me restaurant will be open till about 830pm. I felt really rushed and unhappy. I had had a very long journey. I couldnt even freshen up had to rush to eat the food. However, the wait staff was amazing. The lady in the morning at the check out was amazing but the gentleman who checked me in. I even smiled at him or said hi, he seemed very unhappy and didnt seem happy to be there. So overall I would give this experience a 3.8/5.

Cheap & Cheerful, Very Clean but Noisy!
Lovely hotel for the money overall, the cleanliness i was very impressed with for how old the hotel is! The receptionist was lovely on check in! The room was big for the money, very clean only two issues was the lightswitch needs attending to as it's broken and unsafe as our toddler nearly popped finger in the electricity hole. It was noisy also, think this due to age of property though as you could hear everyone and everything. We got a good night sleep overall thou. Would recommend for a cheap break!

4/10 Fair

The place looks nice from the outside. However the room itself was very noisy and the bed linnen were incredibly dusty. We booked a twin bed but received a double bed. I asked for an extra blanket instead, and the receptionist handed me a double blanket, folded in a single cover, which didn't look clean and was very dusty. The floor was incredibly squeeky so we felt sorry for the downstairs guests. We struggled throughout the night with the dust as well as the rest of the day.

A decent hotel for the price
Hotel was very clean but the room we had (202) was very dated, I assume because it was a pet friendly room. The worst thing was the shower, little pressure and was either cold or scalding hot with no in-between. Breakfast was nice with a choice of hot food and continental style with fruit juices and hot drinks. Wi-Fi was ok for browsing in the room but a stronger signal in the lobby. Parking is a little tricky if you arrive late and the hotel is busy but there is space on the road to park if needed.

Very dated and in need of renovation. Quite expensive for what you get in my view. Dirt on carpets, black mould on shower head. Broken button on shower looked dodgy

A lovely hotel that could use some TLC.
The hotel looks delightful from the outside and has some great character within. The room that we had was a little weathered and the bathroom could do with a facelift. On our second day of our stay, we were woken up at 7am with what can only be described as the sounds you would expect on a worksite. Drilling, cutting and banging. I assume they were working on the roof and unfortunately, this lasted all day. A heads up from reception or a room move would have been appreciated. The location of the hotel is perfect. Just a short walk into the wonderful Grantown-on-spey. We didn't eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food.
