We stayed for 1 night and the room was nice and modern. Just note that we got a basic/smaller room since it was only 1 night and there was no refrigerator in the room. Something to consider if you bring back left overs or want a cold drink while getting ready. The location was 10/10, we took the train and walked the 3 minutes to the hotel. It’s about a 12min walk to Little Italy. It’s further from Petco Park & at the edge of Gaslamp Quarter but we liked that since it was nice not being near the rowdiness. We were able to walk everywhere and stop at bars along the way to get to Petco park.

The Guild is a beautiful hotel, in a great area. We were there on a holiday, so it was higher priced than normal. It was still a good value when comparing to similar hotels in the area. The history of this hotel is interesting and elevates this hotel above the regular "chain" hotels. The only "down" side was the remodeling in the lobby area. I don't think it would have changed my decision to stay here, but it would have been nice to know they were renovating. The courtyard was beautiful and the food was exceptional. I would defiantly stay here agin when visiting San Diego.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. They were unfortunately undergoing major renovations in the front of the hotel that were very loud and annoying. Inside the front door was construction that made it hard to maneuver around. The staff did pass out ear plugs but the check in process was not easy with heavy jack hammering going on. There was also work on the roof which no one told us about but we found out when a worker walked right next to our windows while we were in the room. This is a nice hotel and once the renovations are done it looks like it will be better. We just apparently came at the wrong time.

The room was clean, but a little dingy. This hotel is overpriced. Renovations to the main lobby were happening while I was there. Ice machines are on two floors, no microwave access at all, they did bring us a refrigerator. There are steps out front (no ramp) so you have to lift everything to walk up - not sure if there's handicap access. The staff was pleasant. We were on the main floor, the hallways were quiet but you could definitely hear lots of street noise during the day.

Adorable, nice hotel in a great part of town. Close to waterfront, gaslamp & little Italy. Friendly staff and rooms were nice. Rooms are small but nice.
