Fantastic Hotel Weekend at the Blackwell
Hotel and all areas that we were staying in or passing through were very clean. I have stayed in a lot of hotels through the years and the overall clean and pristine appearance everywhere reminded me of high end hotels I have stayed before. Highly professional staff and the front end services related to valet were incredible. Opening doors, highly attentive to guests going in or out, day or night - it just impressed me that those little things that are often 2nd rate were absolutely on point here at the Blackwell. The only ding I gave to the overall visit was their handling of Covid 19 and their restaurant. They didn't offer breakfast as a result of this and with so many places working around Covid, I was a little bummed. That said - I don't know their reasoning and with everything this virus has disrupted, it was a personal thing and not something that signifies that the hotel failed to live up across the board. The rooms are huge, comfortable and outstanding. The location on North Campus....perfect for anything you might need. Will absolutely be returning to stay here and enjoy a quality of service that is fantastic with a price that is very budget friendly.

The Blackwell was terrific! Everything was very clean with social distancing measures in place. Hand sanitizer was readily available and all staff and patrons were wearing masks. The front desk and valet staff were friendly and efficient as were the folks in the restaurant for carry out service. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I will stay here again!

Sad and disappointing stay; did not enjoy myself.
My overall experience here was disappointing. Customer service was great for the most part. The issue(s) with my stay were: 1.) In the room I was in (407, which isn’t handicap accessible like I originally asked before I arrived) the bathroom has an unevenness to it, resulting in my grazing my head on the counter in front. Thankfully, where my head was hit was in my hairline, so I didn’t look like a buffoon with a large bump on my head. When you get out of the shower/tub the ground is MUCH lower than in the bathroom, not your average height difference. Anyways, this resulted in me staying awake the rest of the night. I then went to get ice, and low and behold the ice machine was inoperable, so I had to go to the lobby to get ice (this doesn’t sound like much for your ‘average joe’ but I am disabled and at least a heads up would be nice. There is notes for other items that weren’t available/operable. E.g The fridge has a note informing you of drinks available for purchase.) After my injury, I was afraid it could happen again, and told the front desk, and ask if I could switch to a handicap accesible room. They switched me to room 401, which brings me to my second issue. The vent in the bathroom has a pipe that leaks occasionally. This is not when I take a shower because I had not taken a shower, or used the bathroom in this room. I had my clothing and makeup in the bathroom, and it was ruined from pipe water. I lost $200 worth of cosmetics, but they did let me wash my clothing

Amazing staff & hotel, just wish they were able to validate parking for the lot next door. Those garage fees start to add up.

Great hotel nice location must pay to park
The Blackwell is an outstanding hotel with top notch staff. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and quiet. There is room service a nice restaurant and bar. The hotel is located on the Ohio State University campus and is centrally located in Columbus so alot of nice restaurants and bars are very close by. My room overlooked the football stadium which was cool. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to anything within a 3 mile radius which is a nice touch. The only thing I did not like was you must pay for parking and that is not advertised so it is surprising and it hikes up your bill. You can either valet your car for $25 or pay a steep hourly rate. Hourly rate? You're staying overnight at the very least not running a quick errand!

loved our stay in Columbus OH
My wife is from Ohio and this hotel is located in the heart of Buckeyes nation with a view of the OSU Football stadium “the Shoe”, the service was COVID19 reduced however the hotel was clean, friendly, helpful, lots of parking, lots of activity within a short ride/walk to high street.

Quite a nice hotel
Considering there were very few people staying there, we enjoyed our stay. My only problem was with valet parking. The car was left by the front door all night, which was not a problem. The car was left unlocked.
