I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in New Buffalo with my daughter and two grandchildren while attending a wedding in the area. Overall, the hotel felt quite average, providing only the basic amenities necessary for our stay.
We booked a suite to accommodate my grandchildren, who would sleep on the pull-down couch. While I was able to request additional bedding, I found the mattress to be uncomfortable and stained. The towels provided were also quite thin, but the front desk staff were very pleasant and promptly supplied us with extra towels and bedding.
Considering the basic nature of the hotel, I felt the price was quite steep. For two nights, we were charged $636, and I was required to reserve both nights even though we only needed the room for one. If the cost had been half that amount, I might have viewed my experience more positively.
On a brighter note, the breakfast offered a nice variety of standard options, and my grandchildren enjoyed the pool in the morning before we headed out. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
In summary, while the Holiday Inn Express met our basic needs, the high price and some discomforts made it an average experience.
