When visiting family in Fort Worth we wanted to test out Hotel Revel located in the hospital/near south side district because of its convenient location. Our experience was a bit underwhelming as finding information required some hunting or follow up directly with customer service. For example, you have to reach out to give the rep your car license plate number or else you will get fined/ticketed.
Overall the room was pretty clean minus a mark on the linens and a lot of dust in the bathroom intake. I think what surprised us the most was the lack of table lamps on side tables, the HVAC had not been turned on (64 degrees when we walked in on an evening it was 40s and rainy outside), and that some things needed functional repairs (e.g., luckily we travel with some small tools to adjust the shower head so we didn’t have to hold it the whole time, but couldn’t fix the tv mount). We were able to get the room warm (make sure the on/off button glows green) and the bed was comfortable (3 standard pillows for a king size bed is also surprising), and our things and car were safe. I think they are aiming for a more minimalist luxury experience than what the hotel can currently provide and hope with some basics support they can improve.
