Problems mar potentially excellent hotel
It got better but it was a rocky start. 1) notified after cancellation about no pool and daytime construction during our stay and 2) arrived at 1am and key that was left in lock box didn’t work so had to wait for someone to arrive and let us in and 3) when shown the room it was like sleeping in an icebox. James, who let us in, said not to open windows because condensation would occur everywhere and AC did not shut off!!! Awful night. Next day, Angel at reception, got us into better room and comped breakfast but it had been an awful first night. One bedroom (this one with patio door from bedroom as well as living area, both of which we could leave open) worked out much better. AC still couldn’t be controlled well but we could turn it “off” (not actually off though) and open patio doors. The view to ocean was spectacular and the patio large. Furnishings and decor were tired but good enough.
