The team at the hotel is excellent, and do an excellent job in ensuring guests have a great experience. I am very grateful to everyone.
The condition of the rooms is another matter. I was assigned to one room which had a really bad smell and requested a room change. The club lounge manager came up to the room herself to understand my problem and resolved it nicely for me by finding another room that did not have that smell (in fact I was welcomed by a nice fresh scent). Although the hotel is just a few years old, both rooms had doors and cabinets with splintered or cracked edges, and a bathroom amenities box that had been varnished with a material that was badly flaking. Which was a shame. But again, the staff really made the difference.
