The staff were all polite and attentive, the location was perfect, in the centre of town with a taxi rank literally across the pavement - we both have mobility issues! The breakfast was one of the nicest I've had at a hotel, with a red hot beautifully cooked hash brown and solid scrambled eggs with no soddy waste - lovely! The bathroom was roomy but the plumbing was lovely and hot - very nice.. My only reservation was the quite incessant smell of 'spliffs', in both the elevator and drifting up from the street through the night! As a 62 year old grandmother I am no expert, but even I realised I was not smelling tobacco smoke! If something could be done to advise guests and neighbours that it is actually against the law, it might lesson the obviousness of the use of such drugs within the area of the hotel!

All the staff at the hotel were so genuinely friendly and helpful. The room although a little dated and in need of a refurb was spotlessly clean and a good size. The breakfast was freshly and very well, cooked to order. There was a good selection of both cooked and continental foods. I think this is a great value for money hotel in the city centre, close to Piccadilly gardens, shops and a busy and varied nightlife. I will definitely be booking again when visiting Manchester.
