I’m not sure how they can get away with a “5 Star” title. This is a high 3-low 4 at best.
The hotel is tall and impressive at first glance, as it towers over downtown Nis. Reception and service is mediocre, offering only basic niceties.
The rooms are very large and beds are comfortable, but the amenities are not up to par.
The lighting is horrible, despite their being several light switches that are unnecessarily complicated to use. There is no lighting in the storage area yet several different lighting options around the bed.
Wifi was hardly useable.
They lack basic amenities such as wine glasses and expected toiletries, only offering the larger pump bottles of generic body wash and shampoo in the shower.
The room is overwhelmingly dark purple, which only makes the lighting issue worse. The room also smelled heavily of cigarette smoke.
The carpet was stained where it meets the glass partition to the shower, as I am sure that years of moisture had made it through that barrier.
Soundproofing is advertised, but we could hear and feel every step taken by the person/people staying in the room above us, as well as the traffic on the busy street below.
The food at breakfast was pretty standard, but there was insufficient seating and service. All of the tables were being used and there were several guests waiting. There appeared to be only one poor employee trying to get dishes and find seating for the guests which resulted in difficulty having dishes replenished.
