Enjoyed this resort!
My husband and I traveled to Amara Cay Resort for a 4 night stay and were very impressed with the whole experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food, drinks and service were excellent as well. We loved the reusable water bottles they gave us at check in, I have never been offered that before and thought it was a smart idea! They also had other great things they offered like a shuttle service and fishing. The beach and pool were beautiful even though it was too chilly for us to utilize the weekend we were here. If you’re traveling to Islamorada for business or vacation we definitely recommend staying at Amara Cay!

Overall we had a good experience, but I think we may pay up for the sister hotel, Three Waters, next time. The hotel is updated, but some details are still old and worn, shows the most in the bathrooms (our door was falling apart). The service and food is good overall, but in the details, some servers and front desk folks are much better than others. Property is somewhat small, so I have trouble calling it a resort - I couldn’t just stay here for a week. You have to get off the property to have more variety of meals and activities.

Ok, but not enough for the price.
Stay here was nice, rooms are pretty clean, stairwells & doors are dirty. Food and drink are ridiculously expensive, and no vending machines. I ended up going offsite & buying beer & snacks. No microwaves in room. And no real beach. Its just a drop off with stairs to water. Room was very comfortable and pool was great. Thats about it. For the price of admission, you'd think a free breakfast every morning woul be included. Again, we went off site for that. It was very relaxing and quiet however.
