It was a pleasant experience. The staff is accommodating. On our last morning we left very early and the young man and young lady from the kitchen made sure we got some coffee and croissants. The housekeeping was good but inconsistent, somehow they had problems with leaving enough towels and toilet tissue. Management always came to the rescue. The breakfast was good but very repetitive. The room was comfortable. It was nice to be able to sleep with an open window rather than air conditioning from an upper floor. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the tram to Bordeaux. You could take the 32 bus, except for Sunday's, to the tram. The tram system is one of the best in Europe.
Make sure to visit St. Emilion and Arcachon by train. Very memorable places. This hotel is a few years old in a very diversified neighborhood. In general, Bordeaux residents are very polite and friendly. The city is extremely beautiful and very walkable. To see and do just about everything it takes no longer than 10 days. Lots of great restaurants. Try Chez Melodie and Mouelleuse et Persilles great food and service but you must reserve.
