Good for the price, don’t expect too much
Overall a good stay. They were able to communicate in both english and french which was nice, however, front “desk” is kind of rude to walk-ins. Cleanliness wise, the room was clean and smelt good, had a smart tv and fridge, and the sheets were clean. I give it a few less stars because the bathroom was discusting- shower had stains everywhere, i’m skinny but that toilet situation was small, a shelf in the washroom broke out of nowhere (we never even touched it), the elevator feels unsafe with rattling but overall it is worth the $115 for one night

Vacation fun
The hotel was great as a budget hotel. I suggest the deluxe room if you can. Other reviews complained about the location and noise. I loved the vibe being in the middle of everything. Loud is fun on vacation. The staff was kind and accommodating. I would totally stay again.

Le Sand & Stone Hotel Montreal
If you are on the budget this hotel is for you. My room was small and not upgraded, however, the sheets were clean, and the bathroom was clean. The receptionists were nice and helpful.

The hotel is on ste-Catherine street, next to all the bars and clubs. If you want a good night sleep, avoid this hotel because you can clearly ear everything that’s going on the street.

Would not recommend
We had paid extra for a room with a bath because of my critical pains, a bath is a must for me. There was no bath stopper and at the reception they said they didn't have any so had to resort to taking a shower. There was no wash cloths (and none available) and no bath rugs. The rooms are not very sound proof and the air conditioning installed in the window let in every sound happening outside and being on St-Catherine's street, it was noisy up to the early hours of the morning. The room was clean, but had the impression we were sleeping in a restaurant's kitchen because of the smell that was very nauseating. Impossible to watch tv, the remote was broken (we asked for new batteries but still didnt work). Unfortunately, we left next morning even more tired then when we arrived, having got no sleep at all :(

Tiny bedroom with shard bath & washroom.
Little room with shared bath & washroom. Paid carpark in public parking in very high price $30 overnight. Outside is noisy.

Assez ordinaire

Good overall & noisy outside
The room itself was good and the hotel service was good! However you can hear all the noise from the street from the room. There was very loud music from the street that I heard until 2 am one of the nights.

You get what you pay for
If you’re looking for cheap, convenient with minimal hassle and not concerned with creature comforts stay here; Not a great hotel, not a dive. Located a block from the metro stop and a block and half from bus #747 into city from airport. Area is safe and walkable to grocery stores. Bed was clean and very comfortable, room is sparse and decent in size. Water pressure is low but doesn’t hinder showering unless you have long hair. No phone and no SAFE in room. Which is a problem because the door into the room is very flimsy, I wouldn’t leave valuables in room, one good push and anyone can enter room, my bedroom door at home is more secure. Walls are paper thin, should you have the misfortune of loud neighbors you’re screwed. No cleaning or maid service during stay, they gave me 2 towels for my 2 night stay. Overall not horrible but if room safety is a concern look elsewhere.

One night in Montreal
We had a nice quick over night stay to catch our train the next morning. This is in the heart of Montreal so lots of action, close by everything and easy to get around. Accessibility with the elevator, I asked to have a room close to the elevator for my mom who is in a wheelchair and it was perfect. I called in advance to check and they said it would be ok. Thank you for your help.
