Not a good stay, felt like a vagabond hotel
First off, I decided to go with signature because the price was low. Once I put in that it was 2 days the price increased significantly. I decided to go ahead because of the four and a half star reviews.
The hotel is situated in a really weird area. It's up a hill and very hard to drive in and out of. It's a very old-fashioned kind of motel, and had a vagabond feel to it. When I saw that the parking was in front and that the rooms could be anywhere including up or down I decided to get a room right next to where I parked my car.
I was told that that was an upgrade of $10 a night which I went ahead and did. When I finally got my bill and the charge to my credit card I saw a difference. I called the hotel and was told that the upgrade was $15 a night not 10. That may strike folks as tiny, and i was very disappointed that I wasn't allowed to cancel my second night. Aware it said non-refundable but generally if a hotel isn't hurting for customers, it'll go ahead and allow a cancellation for the second night if it's done early enough. I wasn't allowed.
There were no blankets and that was a disappointment because it was quite cold. I'm not inclined to turn the heat up really high but I do like a nice blanket. The towels were extremely skimpy and the bathroom extremely small. The TV on the other hand was quite large and the cable had a good selection.
All in all felt like a fourth rate motel from the '70s and I definitely would not recommend anyone coming here.
