"Staff very welcoming. Good size room and decent sleep.fpr the couple of nights we stayed. Ideal for what I wanted as stop over and driving to lake district during the day. Stayed in front, which was surprisingly quiet. Car parking not a problem and free."

Staff were really helpful including arranging for food from yhe pub to be brought to yhe restaurant for a a petson with fietry requirements. Pool was fantastic and a member of our group was very pleased with the spa treatments. This Hotel is a little gem."

"Overnight stay. In the heart of Sedbergh, with public parking about 75m away. Food looked good but the menu isn't very adventurous so we ate at the Black Bull, just round the corner. This has a more upmarket menu at upmarket prices. Not very convenient if you have mobility issues and there is no lift. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were great. All in all, good value and we were not disappointed. "

"Stayed for 1 night as a stop over on route to Scotland. Room was a little 1 bed cottage at the rear of the actual pub. Was extremely clean, comfortable and warm. Only downside was we were expecting a cooked breakfast as stated on their website but was told it was a continental breakfast in the fridge in the room, no food available at the pub itself so ventured into the town to eat and then returned to the Shakespeare for a drink only to find it was all shut up at 8.30pm. If you are visiting...

"Very clean room and breakfast lovely, hot, high quality bacon,sausage etc . Pets welcome in the bar area only Mattress too firm for our choice but this personal to each person . Nice touch of bottled water , various selection of small soaps, shampoo etc and choc biscuits in room . Very busy Friday night for eating so understandably bit of a wait find our table and take orders . Great food and beers ! "

"The only thing we were unhappy about was the fact that one day we had two sausages and two rashers with our breakfast,and only one sausage and one rasher the next morning!Most of the staff were lovely"
