"Booked a cathedral view room thinking it would just be a small view of one of the spires or something… we get there and they tell us we have a balcony suite. IT WAS AWESOME! Basically seconds away from the cathedral. Had the best night ever for an insane price. Would definitely stay here if in cologne again."

Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf

Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf

"Overall it's a nice hotel very near to the airport. Room was comfortable, good air conditioning, service was fine. But for an airport hotel it has one glaring problem, which is lack of food service through much of the day. There's a tiny 24/7 self serve kiosk with some passable meals and drinks. But arriving at nearly 11pm from a flight to find instead of a proper meal, you can just get some plastic wrapped stuff is not pleasant. Then during the day, between 10:30 and 12 and I think around 3-5 as well there is no food except the kiosk. And even room service ends at 11pm. That's okay at most hotels, but it just doesn't work at an airport hotel when you can arrive or have to leave at any point throughout the day and nothing else is nearby."

Clayton Hotel Düsseldorf City Centre

10/10 Excellent
"Hotel and room were both clean and tidy, staff were polite and efficient at check-in and check-out too. The location is very convenient for nearby shops and restaurants as well as the train station. The room itself had plenty of space for bags and luggage and was modern. The recommended car park is no more than 5 minutes walking, but it's not free and it's quite tight, and sometimes you have to go quite a few levels down. We found the pricing very competitive, but it would still be worth paying a small premium over other hotels for. The only downside we had at all was that they were having issues with some of the lifts on/off during our stay, and since they weren't very big, you would have to wait for it to go and then come back."

"Basic but comfortable and very quiet (avoid the rooms over the courtyard). Basic breakfast and forget about eating dinner there but it was my second stay at this hotel so it clearly has my vote. Worth booking especially if you on on business"

"Double Double-pane windows facing the train tracks kept the noise to a whisper day and night. They gave me a wheelchair accessible room that had the biggest shower I've ever seen in the EU. Breakfast is extra, and continental style, but they had something hot every day and the lobby 'co-working' space was very nice. Only complaint would be the stained and worn carpets on the first floor hallways."

Premier Inn Köln City Süd

Premier Inn Köln City Süd

10/10 Excellent
"Comfortable and convenient hotel for a short visit to Koln for a couple of days with my son. Great choice of food in the hotel breakfast buffet, although there were also good local cafe options a short walk from the hotel too. Easy to walk into the city centre (15-25 mins walk) to the major tourist areas/sights. Hotel has a decent amount of on-site parking, although it costs €23 Euros per day, and the entrance to it does involve you having to go around the back of the hotel and down a one-way side road to get to it. We took a wrong turn initially, so had to do another loop to access it. We stayed on the top (17th floor) and there was a great view of the river & skyline from the room. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area."

"Our room was huge, with enough room for the bed for my husband and I, plus twin beds for our two kids. It even had a little seating area and an electric kettle which was great for cup of noodles sorts of meals. The only issue was during check-in when the staff notified us that we had two rooms booked when we knew we'd only booked one. They insisted it was Expedia's mistake and must be fixed on Expedia's end, because as a policy they do not cancel 3rd party reservations. We called Expedia and they said they only saw the one room and therefore could not cancel a second, insisting it was an error on the hotel's end. It ended up being a very frustrating experience for everyone involved but in the end they found a way for the extra room to be canceled by a manager higher up. I really appreciated the woman at the front desk for working really hard to find a solution for us. The male front desk worker had a less professional demeanor and bordered on rude. After that situation was sorted out, we were very happy with the hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had tons of appetizing choices. The second elevator started working during our stay which helped with wait times. The location was excellent with a train stop just down the street, a grocery store a couple blocks away, and a laundromat across the street."
