Wow, we have always wanted to stay in a Castle and we were lucky enough to have the Dalhousie room. Large 4 poster bed (very comfy) and a room you could swing 10 cats in. Had a great bath which set us up for a fantastic meal in the Dungeon. Spent time walking around the grounds and visiting the Hawks and Owls. There is an area to test your Archery skills as well. If you are looking for an out there experience try this fantastic castle

Not everything is new at this property, but that is part of it's character. We were pleased to discover that there was a (small - 2 person) lift which made it easier to get our large luggage up to our room. Only negative comment is that the TV in the room was rather small by today's standards, but it was adequate.

My sister and I stayed for one night on our way through Scotland and we're very impressed with Prestonfield House from the moment our taxi stopped. The staff were attentive and very helpful. We were booking in late following a tour and the staff ensures our luggage was swiftly taken to our room and our dinner reservation held while we freshened up. Beautiful place to stay. Morningside feels safe and easy to access. Lots of coffee shops and places to eat. Highly recommend The Lane Hotel.

Comfortable and quiet rooms, a little hot for me. Great bus service outside hotel and lovely walk and cafes along the promanade.

I love a quirky hotel, i.e., not the same tired layout for every room. This hotel is quirky, and does it with style and class. Amazing staff too - they're evidently proud of the place. Recommend.

Centrally located near old town. Room was clean and staff were friendly and attentive.

A very well appointed apartment hotel in a quiet but central location. Good facilities including a kitchenette and washing machine. Reasonably spacious layout for a studio apartment. Large well designed bathroom with plenty of storage space. My only criticism was that the wooden floor felt a bit sticky underfoot as though it needed a good wash and when i looked under the bed to retreive a dropped item there was a build up of dust. Friendly young staff.

Stunning room with a luxurious bathroom. The staff were charming and it was a great location - not far from the city and with great restaurants near by. Would certainly come stay again anytime we come to Edinburgh

Great spot a little out of the main area but lovely nonetheless! We were on the top floor so be aware without a lift it is quite the effort to get luggage up the stairs. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were friendly

Absolutely perfect experience. The two bedroom appt was perfect for our needs and was palatial compared to London. Super comfy beds and amenities. Perfectly located on the royal mile, just a few mins walk directly to the castle. Blew away our expectations, was the best hotel we stayed in during our 5 week trip around the UK.
