We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel which was very lovely. The rooms were spacious and the interior was very modern.
The hotels restaurant also served delicious food though there are not many other options near by.

The Old Post Office is very basic and that's its charm. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Big windows with lots of light and views of the mountains. The kitchen is a small but wonderful place to have a tea and stare out at the Church Mountain and the ocean...and you can cook if need be. The one staff member was extremely helpful and personable; letting us know about the area and that we should search for native berries. I could not more highly recommend this hotel and would stay there...
Scenic hotel with either the beach or mountain views, friendly hosts and great breakfast selections. Very close to Arnarstapi which was great! There are no heaters though and the bedsheets could have been cleaner. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Staying in guest houses for most of our trip, it was such a nice surprise to have a massive room and private bathroom to yourself. There is also a kitchenette if you want to cook. There is no formal check in or check out. You get emailed your room and door code, so have it ready. Short walk to the supermarket, restaurants, and the waterfall in town.
Nice big comfortable room and the bed was excellent. Hauling the suitcase up the stairs might cause a few issues, though didn’t bother me. Lack of a reception seems to be an Icelandic custom that takes a little getting used to.
