"It has been a while since I was this disappointed with a hotel. Cleanliness or the lack of has probably been the biggest factor - whether it was by the pool or in the rooms. We also felt you cannot really talk about hospitality as such- the staff, bar one or two exceptions, are doing just enough, barely offering a smile - not the energy you want to be around. Activities for kids not adequately advertised- most entertainment seems to have been happening by one pool and no staff bothered to walk...

"The property is very beautiful and well maintained! A car is a must if you like to see the island a bit more! There are multiple pools in the property and all are very beautiful! There is a very good grocery store on the property with good selection. I liked the free shuttle options between Ritz and Las Terrazas. It’s worth to check some of the restaurants in Ritz as well. And the golf courses are stunning! Loved the breakfast as well :)"

"We would like to thank you for the wonderful time we had at this hotel. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. The whole hotel is very clean and tidy. The bedroom and bathroom was very nice. The hosts were excellent. The pictures of the hotel are accurate to the reality. We can highly recommend this hotel and will keep it as a beautiful memory and home in our hearts. "Quality and service are not 4 star worth. We had mixed feeling about this hotel and would not come back nor would we recommend it to others. Positive: Location close to the beach and ocean views are strengths of the hotel, also tasty and fresh food in the restaurant Negative: all inclusive is not worth it, very poor choice of drinks, cocktails, coffee, beer and wine come from machines and taste awful. "The hotel is in a dramatic location and its warm and cozy while the wind and rain is battering outside (we had a storm while we were there). "Firstly the hotel is in a stunning setting with access to hot tubs, sauna and loungers on the staggered terraced looking over the village and out to sea. "Our stay at The Ritz Carlton Abama was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, champagne on the terrace, and thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly at home. Every member of the team was kind, professional and truly passionate about what they do — special thanks to Isabelle, Carmen and Gustavo, who went above and beyond throughout our visit. The resort itself is breathtaking. From palm-lined gardens to ocean views, every space feels calm and beautifully designed. Our accessible room was both elegant and practical, with seamless access throughout and a private balcony that offered the most stunning views of the sea. It was wonderful to enjoy room service and unwind in comfort without a single compromise on style. Dining was outstanding — especially the seafood restaurant, where we enjoyed tender baby squid, the best paella we’ve ever tasted, and local wine that complemented it perfectly. The lobby bar’s cocktails and an impromptu rum masterclass were unexpected highlights. The spa was a true sanctuary. The therapists were lovely, and the range of treatments and facilities — from saunas and sensory showers to yoga on the terrace — created the perfect setting for relaxation. Accessibility was considered throughout, and I found using the facilities simple and safe. The Ritz Carlton Abama is a shining example of how luxury and accessibility can exist side by side.
