4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Ithaca

1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly months to visit Ithaca are January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. To get the most out of your trip, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the area’s key landmarks, rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning natural attractions. This makes it a great value for money experience, especially for those travelling on a budget, as prices may drop during this off-peak season.
2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover accommodation deals to Ithaca, begin by exploring the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. To enhance your chances of securing cheap hotels, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications for flash sales and special last-minute promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see when prices drop or rooms become available, enabling you to book that spontaneous getaway.
3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at an Ithaca hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher side, we will recommend more affordable dates, increasing the likelihood that you could save on your trip.
4. Consider your location: Staying closer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with higher costs. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sights you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels a bit further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
