"Due to the slope of the roof the shower head was only about 3 feet high but they quickly moved us to a better room. The new room was great but sloped ceiling was still there. The breakfast was fantastic and free, the area has so many quiet areas to sit and relax with a cornfield on one side and a vineyard on the other. A small town with a large grocery store is a short walk away. Lots of parking on site but it does have a fee. The only downside was the supper buffet that we had for a ridiculous €39 per person charge: good food but far too few options for that price."

"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

"A beautiful hotel in an ideal location in a gorgeous small city filled with cultural wonders. My room, in the older part of the hotel, was elegant and spacious. Front desk and cleaning staff were unfailingly helpful. I would return without question. My only recommendation to the house is to consider a new mattress for the room.
