Incredible place. In the thick of the jungle overlooking the river, you really feel a part of nature. We loved going for a swim in the river or pool before or after our activities. The staff are very friendly and organising activities is so easy, you can just decide the day before and tell them at the restaurant. The food is also fantastic, with great breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Overall Black Rock is just a fantastic experience and well worth it
Great boutique hotel approx 10 mins outside San Ignacio by taxi. Staff were super friendly and the rooms were well appointed. Lovely pool area for chilling out after a days tours. Only drawback are the eating options as the restaurant had little ambience and was overpriced for the food selection.

What a fabulous place to lay your head for a few nights. Nestled amongst the jungle and mountainous terrain is Maya Mt Lodge. There are hiking trails that head down to the river, definitely explore these. The pool is a welcome relief after a hot day of exploring nearby archaeological sites or exploring the town. Everything about the hotel was amazing. So many fun things to explore and do. The only comment I would advise to people driving themselves, is be prepared to drive to the middle of nowhere!
