Sylhet business stay
Check in was smooth. There was a minor issue with the room which was resolved very quickly and efficiently. GRM Mr Rony Hasan was very helpful and there was no issue thereafter. The hotel could do with some renovation but the staff were always cleaning, friendly and willing to assist whenever we saw them. Catering manager Mr Noyon was brilliant in looking after us. Food at the breakfast and the Antalya restaurant was delicious in particular the Pad Thai! I would highly recommend a stay at Noorjahan.

Central location and very affordable. Breakfast is not great and is the same everyday. Hotel is abit outdated but comfortable and spacious rooms. Thank you Shumon and Shuhag (sorry if name is wrong) for great service. Cleaned room and provided extra towels etc when needed.

Hotel itself is a little out dated but in the heart of syhlet city. Good roof top restaurent. Spacious room and very helpful staff. Booked 2 rooms (609 and 612 i think) Shumon and Shuhag were bery friendly and helpful when we needed something. Cleaned the room well. Hotel is within good budget.

Make sure you get the right room!
I recently stayed at Noor Jahan Grand in Sylhet, and unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant. I had booked a Premium Deluxe room through Hotels.com, but upon check-in, the receptionist initially gave me a Deluxe Double, which was much smaller than what I had reserved. After pointing this out, they changed my room, but the issues did not end there. The cleanliness of the room was below standard. The toilet was not properly cleaned, and it was evident that the cushion covers and cushions had not been washed after previous use, as there were visible stains. This was quite disappointing, especially for a hotel that markets itself as a premium option. Overall, the service and cleanliness did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend this hotel unless they improve their standards.

Good for its location and friendly staff
Second time we’ve visited, sadly the hotel seems to have dropped in quality. For starters they messed up our booking, which we luckily noticed before arrival and mostly sorted out. 2 out of 4 rooms were booked for different dates and after sorting out only 3 out of 4 rooms were ready to use. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurants are as slow as ever, all orders take minimum 1 hours (minus the one time I set my phone timer and said I’m gonna take them up on the 30 mins they said it would take, it took 35 mins which is okay. We got a fright one night when they decided to smoke out the whole floor at 12:30am to kill mosquitos, we woke up choking on smoke. Some pre warning would have been good, as we thought the hotel was on fire. Overall quality and comfort isn’t great, I’d say it’s like a 2/3 star experience. The roof and pool are the highlights, but even they have lost their appeal somewhat.

I enjoyed staying at the Hotel, Zakir was very attentive to my needs. The hotel is ideally located and has a very good standard. I would recommend it to others. I was a little disappointed though with the gym out of service. I guess something like this can't always be avoided.

Great experience and very enjoyable!
Overall excellent experience and enjoyable stay. Facilities - from Room (upgrade) to ‘Antalya’ dining, coffee shop and leisure were extremely good. Staff at all levels from MD to Reception, including Restaurant and Housekeeping were courteous, genuinely caring and professional.

Enjoyable hotel with great service
We enjoyed our stay, although the hotel is a little rough around the edges. Some of the rooms had an awful chemical smell, the noise pollution from outside was 24/7. Staff are really helpful and friendly, service from hotel staff was excellent but the hotel restaurants were very slow. Location is great for shopping trips in Sylhet.

the noor jahan is in a prime location and was close to everything we needed. the rooftop restaurant, pool and ambiance was fantastic! however the rooms are a little run down and our toilet stopped working in the middle of the night with no mechanic available to fix it. other than that issue, we really did enjoy our stay.

Room was very smelly ...i think mainly damp. Very off putting. bed sheets were not the cleanest...i think they were very old even if clean . Fridge wasn't working. Didnt get city view that i booked for . Worst of all i only found out once i checked in that ..only allowed to use the pool for 1 hr during my stay. Unbelievable...the reason i made the booking was for the pool. It was 38c that day. Yet they never mentioned that on the website ..even when checking me in they didnt mention that use was only for 1 hr. Stayed in hotels in over 30 countries yet never been told that i can use pool for only 1 hour.

We really liked our stay here and we were very well looked after. We had booked 3 rooms as a family and as it was during the protests/riots recently the hotel was practically empty so we got the pick of the rooms. Sanzina at reception really looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. The rest of the staff were very accommodating aswell especially the guy who cleaned my room as he made sure I had 3 towels everyday & just got me whatever I needed. I had the corner room which had two big windows which I liked (I am claustrophobic) so wouldn’t have wanted a room with no or small windows. Breakfast was generally good, I would however recommend more fruit and/or healthier foods ie wholemeal chapatti. Just a few minor points, there is a damp smell in some areas which the hotel is trying to sort out, but it is a hot humid country so probably difficult, maybe tiled flooring would be better. I would also recommend having creamer or milk in the rooms for tea/coffee, maybe change up the variety at breakfast a bit more as we were there for 10 nights and the brekkie got a bit boring albeit there was a good selection. Overall a great hotel, probably the best in the area and we all felt at home and the staff looked after us very well.

2/10 Poor

This place is nothing like the photos. Hotel is completely outdated. I booked the royal double room it was so small and was not what the pictures showed. Bathroom shower floor was broken, and sink, super dirty. Place just needs renovation. Greeting from Reception was poor. Eventually they gave me much better room, transportation going to this hotel is very bad because there is construction front of the hotel. Overall I would not recommend if you’re looking for a clean place. Breakfast was decent and do not provide bottle water and have to pay. Floor Staff was very friendly and helpful.

6/10 Good

Communication before checking in was really poor. To date I have not been contacted about my query. We even tried to phone them but they didn’t pick up. (Including Hotel.com themselves) During the stay it was not much better: we requested an additional bed/mattress (room was supposed to sleep 3) but only received this after asking twice and on the second day of our trip. We also requested for a bathrobe but this was only given to us on day 4 of our booking. Staff were friendly so no issues there but they don’t seem to respond to queries unless you ask multiple times. There seems to be a mild bed bug problem as 2/3 of us were bitten on legs and back. However I do have high praise for being mosquito free which is really hard in Bangladesh so well done! Facilities were really nice, in and out of the room; however the WiFi was atrocious to the point where 3G did a better job hotspotting my laptop than the actual WiFi and I was unable to work; definitely an area of improvement for working travellers. Food was really nice, loved the breakfast options!! The pool and skyline view were exceptions in my opinion. Can see that this hotel is on its way up to being really good but still improvements required.

Sylhet, never again.........
Overall, this hotel looks good. Apart from cleanliness, hygiene. Not all rooms have a window that can be opened or there is no window to open at all. The windows are so dirty that you can hardly see anything outside. The rooms are cleaned with some smelly chemicals/Grand Suite room/. You can also book room 915 or 916 directly at the hotel /The Royal Suites/. These rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette, NO plates, pots, cutlery, just nothing. If you want to cook something, you have to go to the store and buy something to cook and eat. This kitchen is just decoration. As for the city of Sylhet, it is a city where, after leaving the hotel, you are attacked by street beggars. At every turn, there is no place in this city without people collecting money. This is really very unpleasant and makes you not want to take a normal walk on the street. Apart from tea fields and two rivers over 50 km away, there is nothing to look at. never again

Sehr zentrale Lage, gut erreichbar. Gutes Zimmer.

My overall experience was excellent. I would like to thank the hotel staff on their impeccable service. Overall the staff were 5*.
