B&B gets C&C Grade
It wasn't for me. There are different expectations for B&Bs. If you are desiring charm and contact with fellow guests, this is not the right place. Sure, there was a text before your arrival, and frilly decor. The best B&Bs, IMO, are the ones where you can interact with the host and other guests. There were some things that didn't work in the room, like one of the USB ports on my wife's side of the bed. But texting for assistance or reporting issues is just awkward in this setting. The breakfast was delicious, but it's at a popular bakery. So, you are competing with a crowd. It's not really the peaceful atmosphere to start your day. It was a convenient walk to all we needed. So, charmless and convenient gives it a Grade C. This was our choice for our 29th wedding anniversary. So, it was a pleasant enough stay, but also disappointing.

Quiet B&B in Carlsbad
Cute B&B in Carlsbad, 2 min walk to grocery store which was convenient. Also a block away from very cute cafe for breakfast with good options and fresh pastries, which the Fiddler's Inn gives you a breakfast credit for that covers enough for a breakfast for 2 people. Comfortable beds, all the amenities travelers might need with the charm of staying at someone's home. Easy parking and responsive staff. We had a nice one night stay.

Charming Cottage
We were on the area to see Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The room was very quaint and comfortable, except for the sitting chairs. We especially liked the little breakfast shop that came with staying here. The food and coffee were outstanding. It was packed with townspeople. We also enjoyed the restaurant that was recommended in a little guest book in the room.

Cute little B&B
This is an old house converted to a B&B. There is no one on site and access instructions are sent via text. When we arrived there was someone already in the room and we scared the heck out of them trying to open the door. i called the number on the door and Jennifer was very apologetic, getting us an alternate room for the night. The room was very clean, definitely not your standard chain hotel room. The only parking is on the street, but we had no problems with parking. Overall not bad at all.

Wonderful Place
What a great find in Carlsbad. The house was easy to find, the parking was right in front of the house, and the room was outstanding. The owner worked with us on a minor issues, not her fault (water main broken) and she was easy to reach and communicate with. We had a small studio apartment in the back of the property. Included a small kitchen, large refrigerator, sofa, chair, small table, king size bed and bathroom. The room was in great shape, clean and inviting. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets if you need them. The unit was well supplied, with things like plates, wine glasses, towels and paper. She left chocolate next to the bed, coffee on the counter and chocolate chip cookies on the table. :) The house is surrounded by businesses, but more like dentist offices and such, all closed by the time we arrived and not an issues. Two doors down was a bakery, which you are given a credit to get breakfast. Outstanding food. My number one choice for the area if I were to return in the future.

We both loved this place. It feels like a home away from home. You don’t have to check in with anyone. They send you a text message with the code and instructions shortly before you check in which is convenient and the room is so nice and cozy. The room has microwave, fridge, tv and everything else you could think of. Very clean and comfortable as well. The shower is wonderful and has a rainfall shower head. I loved it so much that I bought a rainfall shower head for my own house. The bathroom and sink is very nice.

Chocolate chip cookies were delicious as were thoughtful bedside mints and earplugs. Unit was clean. Window unit AC was very noisy as was band in neighborhood. The exterior door wasn’t sealed well. Parking on the street felt a little unsafe.

This was a great find staying at Carlsbad before going to the Caverns. Loved the room, very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed breakfast at the Blue House. It is near a busy street but earplugs are provided… and cookies! I definitely recommend.
