After almost 3 weeks in Europe, this was to be our final hotel. I wanted to be near to my uncles war grave, to visit, and have time to look at a few WW1 sites, and this hotel was in a good location for this.
I looked at a number of hotels in the area, but this one looked 'a bit special' from the information, and truly it was.
The hotel had real 'character'. The owner was at reception when we arrived, and we soon were settled in enjoying a cup of tea in our room.
I read a review which said the hotel was difficult to find, and it probably was without a sat nav, but our sat nav found it without problem.
It was an older building, and it didn't have air conditioning or a fan. The weather was warm and humid and leaving the window open allowed a number of midgies in, despite the net curtains. Needing to sleep ON the bed rather than beneath the duvet, I did end up with a few bites.
Apart from that, it was a great stay and we would book the hotel again.
