Sterling Darjeeling
"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. I would highly recommend Sterling Darjeeling."
Planter's Heritage by Cilantro Collections - Mall Road
"The staff were great. The location was perfect and close to main Darjeeling mall. The floors in the room and multiple junctions in the lobby area are uneven which may cause discomfort and extra attention especially for elderly people."
Udaan Dekeling Resort Darjeeling
"Was not aware that the hotel doesn't offer eggs or alcohol. They should have mentioned on their website, especially for international guests."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Darjeeling
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly months to visit Darjeeling are February, March, and September, when hotel prices are generally lower. To truly appreciate the historical landmarks, cultural sites, and stunning natural scenery, it’s recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. During your visit, you can enjoy activities such as hiking in the picturesque mountains, exploring local temples, witnessing breathtaking sunrises, and taking excursions to natural parks, all of which provide great value for money. Whether you're interested in rock climbing or admiring the beautiful flowers, Darjeeling offers a wealth of experiences that are perfect for those on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore last-minute deals for accommodation in Darjeeling, you may start by checking the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you're more likely to see discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, by enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you save on your stay. The Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you find the best options available. You'll receive timely updates on price drops or available rooms, making it easier to book that perfect last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you potentially save on your stay in a Darjeeling hotel. For those seeking unique accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you to secure the best possible deal.
- Consider your location: Staying closer to major attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often tends to come with higher costs. For more budget-friendly options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sights you plan to visit. Additionally, you could explore independent hotels located further out, which are more likely to provide a more authentic and affordable experience.
