Possibly my worst experience at a hotel full stop, which is a bummer since I got what I thought was a nice room and tried to make a committed effort to use the amenities.
I had to toss out the room service food the first night since it was inedible. The staff isn’t the most accommodating for English speakers and gaslit me more than a few times about what was included and not included with the spa plans I had.
Also ended up mostly tossing the club sandwich that came with my first spa meal (I booked multiple spa appointments, which in retrospect was a mistake) since it was so bad, which was arguably equally impressive to be as bad as the burger (though I forced myself to eat some of it to salvage some of the loss).
Most of the food I had at the restaurant wasn’t good (just passable if not inedible - they found a weird balance of normally being either completely over-seasoned i.e. eating salt with a side of meat or not being seasoned almost at all). The only thing that was alright was the meal after several misses, in which the liaison to the kitchen came up to drop off (though they had some confusion with the spa about the drinks). It’s a messy operation and feels like assumptions get made left and right that are wrong and / or don’t make sense (that’s talking about the hotel, spa, and restaurant).
