Even though I showed them my receipt for two double beds, they didn’t honor it and put us in a king. He said he did not have any rooms with two beds. Why was that an option when I booked in April, then?
The owner/operator did not speak English so it was very hard for me to get answer to the questions I was asking about our reservation. I also think he knew we were stuck staying there because it was the 4th of July and there were no other options. He also told us our suv was too large to park there and to "go park on the street". Again its 4th of July, and I tried to tell him to look at the street. There is zero parking. Thank God our friend with an office had a spot for us when I called him and told him the situation.
The owner/operator said it's not his problem because we booked through Expedia and to take it up with them. I tried to get through to them, but at this point, we were also late to catch our friends' boat for the fireworks. By the time we got back at midnight, the family was exhausted, we knew other hotels were sold out, and so 2 adults and 2 kids tried to sleep in a king bed for the night. If it were just my husband and me I would have slept in our car and called Expedia all night till I got through. This man seems to have very unethical business practices, in my opinion.
