The hotel was lovely. We were greeted cheerfully and told the breakfast times and reminded not to forget our room key when going out as the room door once shut can only be opened with a key. Our room was very spacious, a really comfortable bed and a nice sized bathroom. There were also sufficient coat hangers in the wardrobe. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided in the room. Breakfast provided a good choice of hot and cold food and the staff were lovely. The reception is manned from 8am to 8 pm. The only one issue is parking. If people park sensibly in the car park there is room for 7 cars. You can also park on the street and the staff asked for our car reg as there are cameras. The village is lovely and the castle well worth a visit. There is also a wonderful beach so great place for walking and dogs are very welcome in hotel rooms and restaurants and cafes.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, unfortunately no hot water for the whole weekend. Staff kept saying it was repaired but that wasn't the case. The weekend, was cold and wet so no hot shower was pretty grim.

We stayed in off season. When we arrived at 4 pm, nobody was there. Another guest let us know the keys were just behind a flower box. Got in, lovely room, clean, with plenty of amenities. Good water pressure. My only wish would be that they provide wash cloths, as well as towel racks or some form of hanging and drying our towels. There not a single hook or rack in the entire room. A simple fix, but certainly worth it. I didn’t have much hope for the breakfast, not sure why, but it was Excellent, and the staff was attentive and kind. I would recommend this place, and imagine it is busy all summer long.

Hotel and room were beautiful. Check-in clerk was friendly and welcoming. Location was completely charming, and the breakfast was very good. We were in suite 7, and therein lies the problem. An hour after checking in and prior to leaving for dinner we discovered our TV didn’t work. We mentioned it to the clerk who said she would have a look while we were out to dinner if that was OK with us. We gratefully agreed and left for dinner. When we returned, the TV still didn’t work and the front desk was closed. We decided it was not a huge deal, and turned in to sleep. That’s when we began to hear running water in the bathroom. I walked in to see water running from the light fixtures and cracks in the ceiling, which were also now sagging a bit. I found an emergency phone number on the internet and called it. The woman who answered seemed completely unbothered, stating that this was known to happen when the room above us takes showers. She apologized but said there was nothing that could be done for it. We asked to change rooms, but of course they were all booked and no staff was on location. We put towels down and dodged dirty upstairs shower water streams while trying to get to our own sink. The lady also told us she knew about our TV and believed the prior tenants must have broken it. All that being said, we still enjoyed our stay. If these issues got fixed, it would have been almost perfect. The area and the village of Bamburgh made up for the Inn’s shortcomings.

Great hotel, which is very well located for Bamburgh and surrounding areas. Staff are really friendly and very helpful with local knowledge. Hotel was clean, and had nice little amenities in the room. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would stay here again if in the area.

Stayed for one night on a coastal trip up north, although nothing to complain about regarding the property , we were expecting more for the price we paid. Breakfast was nice had a menu choice option of cooked dishes, the property still felt like a more up market B&B. Limited accommodation choices in the village and surrounding area likely allows for the higher price points.

Very close to the castle and beach, so that was excellent. Parking is very limited, especially around busy times like bank holidays (when we went). The staff were very friendly and very attentive at breakfast which was great, and the food was good. Our room (room 6), is in need of a little tlc and the walls are a little thin (I could hear the people in room 5 snoring!), but overall a very nice little set up. I would stay there again 😀

We were a bit worried considering some of the negative reviews, but we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Lovely fresh rooms with nice bedding and towels. The bathroom was spotless with upmarket toiletries provided. Great choice for breakfast which was well cooked and generous. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

We booked two rooms, got one big room and one small room. Expensive for that type of accommodation. No cheese for the breakfast toast but a cooked meal is provided. The room was warm and the bathroom even warmer.

Storm prevented my trip. I was told a refund would be possible, then the hotel reversed and wouldn’t authorize the waiver through Expedia. I choose places that stand by what they tell guests.

Arrived back to my room to find the entire corridor had lost power no working sockets, meaning no TV, no kettle, no way to charge devices. Spoke to another couple on the same floor experiencing the same issue. Called the hotel and was told the nearest staff member was approximately 1 hour 45 minutes away in Edinburgh and to speak to reception in the morning. I ended up sitting in the breakfast area charging my phone, which isn’t exactly what you expect from a paid stay. When I raised it, I was told the power had likely tripped due to the storm and that “someone must have plugged something in they shouldn’t have”, yet nothing was done about it despite them identifying the probable cause. I was also told that they’re “a guesthouse, not a hotel” and I was the only one who complained by quite a defensive member of staff the next morning and therefore don’t offer 24/7 cover. Interesting you’re charging hotel prices over a bank holiday weekend. You can’t market yourself as one thing and downgrade your responsibilities when something goes wrong. Towels were also lacking and the TV had issues beyond the power outage by not being securely attached, I couldn’t use it anyway. The location and setting are lovely, but the service fell well short of what you’d expect for the price. A hotel (or guesthouse, sorry), should have basic contingency arrangements in place, especially over one of the busiest weekends of the year. Awaiting a reply to get my refund, I would imagine others are too.

The property was close to Bamburgh Castle and Farne Islands that is great in summer for Puffins. We were given the smallest double bed room even though we booked a proper queen room that were available.
