The room was really sweet and well decorated- great for a night or two. I didn’t sleep particularly well due to noise throughout the night (possibly the elevator) and the pillows were uncomfortable. The lack of tea & coffee facilities in the room is also a shame- even a kettle would be nice. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly and the location is great. Loved the atmosphere and food provided at breakfast.

We stayed in a connecting family room and it was spacious with 2 bathrooms and 2 four poster beds. The decor was lovely and the staff were very helpful. It’s is a few minutes walk from Solli bus and tram stops making it easy to get around. Would stay again.

A great alternative hotel to the big chains. Great location with walking distance to Karl Johann and Akers Brygge mm. Parking is an issue as in all Oslo but there is an expensive underground parking a block away. The breakfast was great! No AC in the rooms and we had a very warm room since the temperatures outside during the day was 25-30 degrees.

Everyone at the front desk was patient and helpful. Breakfast was healthy and yummy. The rooms are cozy, and loved having a balcony with a peek of the sea. Used it to dry our wet clothes :) there’s no AC, but the front desk provided us a fan which cooled the room for the night. Would stay here again!

My stay ticked off the most important boxes; Nice bed, fast WIFI, quiet location and decent shower. No info about the hotel was given to me at check-in, so I really have no idea of what was on offer. The door locks used at this hotel are of cheap inferior quality non-international standard and should be replaced. In my room the locking bolt did not work.

An amazing stay in oslo

The staff at the Guldsmeden were amazing . Anything we needed from information to travel adapters for our phones - they had it all and were always happy to help . The hotel was beautifully furnished and very homely and the breakfasts were amazing !!
