Excellent
Overall I liked my staying at this place. The owners and the staff were very nice and friendly. The owner gave me a ride to the town and back several times. The surrounding is pastoral. The beakfasts were good. I liked the selection of jams. The dinners were very good too and the price of the dinners was fair relatively to the overpriced restaurants you find in El Chaltén. The only negative point is the lack of wifi inside the rooms. Eventually I got used to that. I read a book when I stayed at the room instead of endless surfing the internet. The 2nd downside is the remoteness of the place. If you don't have a car like me, you'll need to pay 6,000 pesos for the taxi or I ask the owner if he can give you a ride. I walked few times to the town and back. It's quite a hike, not for everyone.

6/10 Good

This is in a lovely setting by the mountains but please be aware that it is REMOTE! It is 2 miles from town on an unlit rocky road. There is not a free shuttle as indicated and it can be very difficult to find a taxi. I would recommend staying here only if you have your own vehicle. Otherwise it is comfortable and peaceful.

Love this place . Staying on the ranch is already a vacation. I can stay at the hotel the whole day. Me and my Bf hang out in their saloon with some comfy chairs and couch and good wi fi . Alfredo is the best host , very kind , hospitable as well as the rest of the staff . Very close to el chalten and even some hiking trail . It feels like home . We already plan to our next trip in El chalten and will stay in this very beautiful place . It’s paradise!!!

Family-owned, this is a working ranch with comfortable, clean, and spacious rooms. The owner is charming and extremely helpful in his knowledge of the entire area. The property is convenient to El Chalten and all the trails, and is much better than staying in the town itself. Breakfast abundant and delicious. Dinners served in the on-site restaurant are also excellent. I couldn't more highly recommend a stay at Estrancia!

Beautiful location. Very peaceful and quiet. Site says free shuttle to town, but it’s the owner who will take you, though there isn’t any structured service.. so you may have to take a Taxi—order it in advance as it may take up to 30 min to arrive since you are in a small town. Breakfast is all right. Some cheese, packaged ham slices, and salami... there was a nice homemade yogurt... rooms are very clean and beautiful. A fun experience feeding the calves milk. They have a lot of good information in the lobby about the weather for the day for when you go hiking. WiFi only in common areas, not rooms. Also the power will go out from midnight or so till 0530 AM

Staff wanted to charge more of us claiming that we could only stay with one person in each room. Then I showed them the reservation that said that we also had booked for a child in each room. Then they said that the maximum age of each cold should be two years old. I disagreed firmly, and showed them the ages of the children in the reservation and also said that I had prepaid the stay. Only then they gave up charging more. Food was not good. Breakfast was served in dirty tables. They did not even took away the dirty plates of prior guests.

Great hotel/hostel is/estacio. Alfredo and his family team went out of their way to ensure I got as much as possible from my trip. Advice on the numerous treks, lifts to and from town, great on site restaurant. Many thanks

Great location and hosts
Lovely farm style stay in very comfortable estancia and with scenic views of the mountains around El chalten. Alfredo, Patricia and their staff were very friendly hosts and happy to help with trekking advice. Alfredo also provided a morning and afternoon shuttle to the town which is only 3kms away. The estancia itself is very beautiful and has some cows, a horse and a very friendly farm cat, Pantera, that all hang around the accommodation so if you have kids or like animals it's very cool. There is also a restaurant with much of the ingredients coming from the farm itself. Basic dishes but quite good. Staying on an estancia fitted so well with the trekking and scenery which is really the whole point of going to El chalten. If you want bars and backpackers then stay in El chalten but if you want peaceful surroundings then this is the place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Best accomodation in El Chalten
Beautiful place in El Chalten. Alfredo is an excellent and knowledgeable host and went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The food at the restaurant is delicious and there are some lovely walks from the property. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Patagonia.

Very comfortable & relaxed authentic stay
I really enjoyed staying at this place. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The place is cozy and beautiful. I had one of my best steaks in short stay in Argentina there. Since it is a ranch you are out in the elements but not too crazy. **the only two things that you should know that this place is slightly out of town about 5 minute drive and since they produce their own electricity no hot water from 12 midnight - 7 a.m but don't let that scare you the place is really unique.

Unique hotel in a unique place on Earth.
Estancia La Quinta surprised us with its fantastic surroundings and the quality of the service. Just seconds before the entrance to El Chalten, Estancia La Quinta sits inside a horseshoe of mountains, protected from winds. Its extraordinary history is so interesting to learn, and its owners, the grandchildren and great grandchild of the original founders, are wonderful and dedicated to maintaining a superior place for visitors. We were treated with amazing warmth and personal attention, the room was beautiful, overlooking a superb outdoor view; the presence of the cows and calves outside was fantastic: just made us feel we were in a real place, not a regular hotel. The food was wonderful at all times, and the sitting areas just a blessing. We had a marvelous time hiking in El Chalten and going back to our special place at Estancia La Quinta at the end of the day. We couldn't recommend it more. November 2016
