The hotel is old and run down, but it's right next to the train station. The staff are super friendly. The street outside the hotel is full of broken bottles and crazy people shouting until after midnight.

Stayed in Hamburg for a football weekend to go to a couple of matches. We hired a triple room which was perfect for our needs. Great clean hotel, easy to find in a central location a few minutes walk from the station. Area was OK but a lot of homeless people wandering about but there didn't hassle us, may put families off though. All in all a great find and will be staying here again on our next football trip.

The room was close to the main train station and was clean and sufficient. That was what we needed. However, there was no elevator to the floor where rooms could be accessed. We had to carry two large, heavy suitcases up a very long, narrow staircase, and back down.

It looks like the original establishment has been expanded, which was done very nicely. I like the 24h reception that makes you feel safe despite the unsafe feeling that I had walking in the street itself. Very conveniently located near the Hamburg Central station.

Negative: bad neighborhood, no warm water, room had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, no closed off storage closet or similar for luggage - it was just openly placed in the breakfast area (better to pay to leave your luggage with DB's luggage service at central station). Positive: nice staff and close to the central station.

Very unsafe area, don't go there. The staff isn't very friendly, the breakfast is overpriced, some rooms are OK, but small, others very noisy or smelly. You are better off buying a Deutschlandticket and staying in Lubeck or Bremen.

The street where the hotel was was slum. It was filled with homeless people and junkies. Pictures of the hotel is lying. There was no safe parking of the car. Maybe the worst street in Hamburg. The hotel should not be on hotels.com.
