The hotel’s main advantage is its location. If you are attending activities at Dubai Knowledge Park, it is within walking distance and therefore very convenient. Unfortunately, beyond the location, my nine-night stay was disappointing.
The carpets have clearly seen better days and need thorough cleaning, as they make the rooms feel unclean. The gym equipment needs to be fixed. On arrival, I was allocated the wrong room, the telephone was not working and there were leaks in the room. Basic amenities were also not consistently available. I had to request items such as tea bags, soap, sanitary bag, a shower cap and an iron; when the iron was delivered, I was told I could only keep it for one hour. Housekeeping was often unresponsive, meaning I had to contact reception for assistance.
There was also no concierge service. After buying a coconut elsewhere because the hotel did not have one, I asked whether it could be cut for me and was told this was not permitted under hotel rules. While hotels may have policies, the overall approach to service felt inflexible and fell below the standard I expected in the UAE, particularly as a guest staying for nine nights.
The security staff member was helpful, but overall the experience was frustrating. I eventually checked out earlier than planned without requesting a refund because I simply wanted to leave. I would only consider returning if proximity to Dubai Knowledge Park were absolutely necessary.
