Terribly disappointing and substandard. Several issues raised and none resolved. An example was being in Iceland in December, heating in your room is rather important, one bedroom radiator didn’t work and the other one whistled very loudly constantly. Receptions attempt to resolve this was to downgrade our room from a Junior Suite to a standard room but offered no finance reimbursement for the downgrade. When we told them this was unacceptable they promised to get Maintenance to investigate which they might have done whilst we were out but they certainly didn’t achieve anything.

Great location. Mediocre hotel.
Hotel is in a great location. Although the lobby is decorated well the rooms are a little worn. Plastic shower curtain did not stop water going over room. TV did not work. Iron was provided and good selection of toiletries. Spa access is an additional cost. This is not clear when booking through hotels.com. First receptionist was condescending and rude and stated that we would not expect laundry to be done for free so why would we expect access to the pool to be free. The cost for the size of spa and facilities is high. Basic gym and small pool and sauna. Second receptionist when we went back to ask of cost, let us have access for free due to confusion.

Great location! Literally two minute walk from the Rainbow street, shopping, restaurants, etc. clean, cozy place. Breakfast was very nice, plentiful, hot and cold items, oatmeal, fruits, pastries. Staff was welcoming although we wished they helped a little more with parking options, considering Reykjavik has quite unique parking system. We ended up parking in the parking garage Traðarkot, few minutes walk from hotel. Parka app was very helpful. Overall it was a lovely place and a pleasant visit.

The rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great for saving us from having to go out to eat. However our room was on the top floor and had slanted ceilings with the roof, which had we known ahead of time, we would have booked a different room due to the fact that we could not stand up straight in the majority of the room (both 6ft ) and both hit our heads multiple times. We also were expecting a fully enclosed bathroom with walls, but the bathroom was closed in with frosted glass on 3/4 of it and clear glass on the lower and upper parts of it, leaving basically no privacy to do your business. So we did not love that. Overall, it’s not a bad hotel or room to stay in, just different than we expected compared to photos.

This is the heart of the old city so if youre looking for quiet then it's the wrong place. But it is convenient to many dining options and nightlife. The breakfast buffet is also massive and includes many options. Included with stay at the time of this writing. There is also a hot tub and tiny gym on site but I didnt get to use either.
