So so
Great location and amenities but the hotel is very dated; dirty carpet, chipped paint, and our room was over looking the roof - not the marina.

Poor
Valentine’s Day.
The room was absolutely nothing like the pictures. The roof was falling in the kitchen appliances were in the bathroom. Front desk receptionist was amazing and helped get our full refund within a hour after checkin.

Disappointment and learning experience
The "King Standard" room was booked after reviewing the pictures online. Upon arrival the 8th floor room had some black either dirt or mold on the ceiling and had pieces of plaster separating, the carpet was nasty and torn in places, walls had patches and unpainted, the remote for the TV did not work with volume and on/off, no maid service for 3 days, the bath room had caulking new over bad and little hole in it. Paint peeling off the bath door. Had a broken soap dish, hard water deposit on the shower head, tub facet dropped, toilet tank lid was not the proper one and made getting the flush lever difficult. The toilet did not flush/drain properly. Room was noisy In the morning I asked about another room of if all rooms were the same I was informed the standard kind was not renovated and I needed to book the "premier king" for the renovated room, sure would have been nice to know that!! Breakfast in the morning is a box with instant oatmeal which needs hot water and a bowl not supplied, danish, fruit bowl, and a small mouth full of OJ. Parking was $15 a night or $16 by valet which the girl did either not tell me or did not make it clear upon check-in. Restaurant on the dock/waterfront I went the first night was $$$$ 10 chicken wings for $14 and sandwiches for $22 and up, needless to say did not go back. The location is good walking distance for eating, Walgreens, bars, shops and the beach

Exceptional
Loved the live band down stairs and being able to enjoy it while hanging out on our balcony with the beautiful view ! The restaurants were both fantastic! Only downer is the breakfast ! It’s great if you want something just quick and light ! Don’t get me wrong it was bad, but we just wanted to all have breakfast together in the restaurant. Other than that ..... we will be back again soon !

I have been coming here for 10 plus years. The new management has turned into an unfortunate experience. The music is blasting in the restaurant and lobby. The walls are paper thin lots of noise. The clientele here has changed. Inconsiderate loud people. And I was charged 15 bucks for parking when there is plenty of spots. I are at the Rusty Hook but my fish wasn’t cooked enough. I’m not a complainer usually but this time I am because I know how this place use to be. I’ll miss the view at Sands.

Room key cards didn’t work. Hot water wouldn’t shut off. Moved to new room and again room key cards wouldn’t work.

I have stayed here before because the location is amazing! Close to everything, spectacular views of the waterways and beach. The place is always clean. The rooms are large with a small kitchenette in some rooms. They have balconies that I have enjoyed. The cons - it is old and looks it. The carpet is worn with tears. Paint job to update was poorly done. This time my toilet didn’t work right and the microwave didn’t work at all. Overall the price and location sold me.
