Nice room, very friendly staff. Didn't know it turns into a nightclub at weekends but that's fine. Very close to the Van Buren for gigs and has an excellent restaurant onsite. Only open for dinner but the food is superb. Would definitely stay here again.

I loved the 50s Decor. So many rooms downtown are changing and becoming appealing. I actually have stayed before and did not even check in last night. I thought I would leave a review. Interesting spot. Rooms are fun, but functionally awkward…especially if trying to work. Walls and windows do little to keep noise out and this is a busy area with lots of road noise. Seemed like a constant serenade of sirens. Check in was weird, as staff was just sitting out at a picnic table and there isn’t really an office.

I loved the mid-century modern vibe. I was warned ahead of time about the loud music and parties on the weekends, and truthfully wasn’t bothered much by the noise. However, the parties happen in the courtyard, and since the room doors open right into the courtyard, being a single woman traveling alone surrounded by a large group of drunk strangers who could all watch exactly what room I walked into didn’t exactly make me feel safe. Otherwise, it was a convenient, affordable place to stay with a cool vibe.

The Egyptian Motor Hotel is a hipster pad, for better or for worse. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean, decked out, and had all the amenities we needed (beds, TV, bathroom with shower, fridge, and microwave).
