I have stayed at several Econo Lodge properties and feel my expectations are right sized going in. Upon arrival at the hotel, even with my reservation, it felt like I was an imposition to the person at the front.
When I tried to find my room on the backside, I found that half the upstairs has been deemed unsafe, but was then unsure out to feel about the room I was given only yards away on the second floor of the other side.
The room was poorly cleaned, especially the toilet, and it made for an uncomfortable stay. Had I not just driven 14 hours, and in need of sleep, I may have asked for another room, but my confidence any others would be significantly different made me just grin and bear it.
