It was good but lots of construction or I’d give it 5 stars. The best part was the indoor pool which was the perfect temperature. Most the time hotel pools are way too cold but it was perfect. I so wish the hot tub was not under construction. However, they also had an outdoor pool and hot tub. The gym was on the small side but who cares when you can do laps in the perfect temperature pool lol.

Overall the hotel and amenities were nice. The biggest complaint was the cleanliness of our shower. The shower could use a detailed clean and even an update. The room itself was clean. While it was nice to have a breakfast buffet inside the hotel, we felt it was overpriced for the amount of breakfast options to choose from with the breakfast buffet. The pools were nice and we liked being able to choose from 2 pools and 2 spas. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy on the property.

We were looking forward to our stay at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington, but unfortunately our experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arriving, we immediately noticed that the hotel was hosting a Sons of Confederate Veterans conference, with Confederate flags displayed prominently throughout the lobby and common areas. Regardless of the organization's intentions, these symbols represent a painful part of our nation's history and can be deeply hurtful to many people, including guests and employees. We were surprised that the hotel chose to host and visibly accommodate an event of this nature without any acknowledgment of the impact it could have on others. Although we checked into Room 532 because we had already made the trip, we stayed only about four hours before deciding we simply could not remain at the property. We chose to leave rather than continue our stay. What made the experience even more disappointing was the complete lack of response afterward. I contacted Marriott Corporate by email and also reached out through Hotels.com to express my concerns, yet I never received any reply or acknowledgment from either. The absence of any response left us feeling that our concerns were not taken seriously. Because of both our experience at the hotel and the lack of customer service afterward, we will not be returning to this property.

We stayed on a family vacation for a long weekend. The Top Deck restauarant poolside was not open for the posted hours, so do not make plans around those times. The pool TV was also malfunctioning and many people were wanting to watch the English Open. Our stay was OK, but the hotel has definitely not maintained it's more elite status over the years.

This hotel is dated. While the room itself has been cosmetically updated (floors, bathrooms are nice) and the hotel offers some of the rooms with balconies which is a very nice perk, the room I stayed in was hotter than Hades and probably needs the HVAC to be updated. I had to run out to Wal-Mart to purchase a fan in order to survive my stay because I did not want to give up my corner balcony because I know the solution I would have been offered was to change rooms which I did not want to do. Front desk staff was variable. Some were helpful in storing my luggage until my room was ready, but there was one young lady who was not helpful at all and told me that my room had a pool view - when I got to my room, I had a parking lot view instead! I had a poor experience in the restaurant, the one time I decided to have dinner at the hotel on a Sunday evening, the bartender was apparently the only floor staff they had, so one staff person from the golf course felt bad and said she wouldn't leave her alone and was helping her out along with another man from another department. Service was extremely slow, not something you'd expect from a "resort" that charges you a $20 resort fee per night for...nothing? For staying there, I guess. We didn't get anything extra that's for sure, except for inconveniences. Oh, and don't try and be healthy and order the broccolini...I think it was either $6 or $8 for the laughably small portion.

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to the hotel. Everything has been nicely renovated and staff was very accommodating. I read several negative reviews about the hotel so I was a little apprehensive about staying there. Not sure why there are negative comments. We had no problems with air conditioning and it was 98 degrees. The property was pretty, the pool area was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels, the bar/restaurant was very nice, too. Granted the hotel is over 40 years old but the useable area does not reflect the age of the property. It’s close to the distilleries and other great restaurants. We will definitely return for a long weekend.

The property is amazing as well as the rooms and amenities. Very clean hotel and Breakfast was one of the best I've had all negative reviews of the hotel should be dismissed. Anyone would be happy staying here. The only negative i give it is the front desk could of been more helpful as far as being proactive about a booking mistake but it may be because of a language barrier I think when working at the front desk dealing with Majority Americans fluent English is important.

Very old. Room was damp and musty. Outdoor pool area was okay
