I was unable to check in because the room was not cleaned. The solutions provided were illogical, as I was required to pay out of my own pocket for the night in another hotel, as well as for transportation, and then request a reimbursement the following day. All of this without any formal or physical documentation, as they did not have official letters bearing their logo. After four and a half hours, I was offered solutions directly by Hotels.com, and they corroborated the situation by contacting those responsible for it. I must point out that this was going to be my first visit to the city and my first time staying at the Meliá hotel chain. However, I doubt my company, my family, and I will ever stay there again.
