The first room I was given on the 5th floor had a "balcony" door that would not even close, so I called the main desk from my phone because the room phone was not even plugged in. They gave me a different room on the 3rd floor. That front door barely closed and had to be shoved hard to engage the lock. The carpets were clearly not vacuumed and there were belongings and trash from previous guests in the room, further showing the lack of cleanliness. After seeing multiple roaches in the bathroom by the tub, toilet, sink, and floor, I went down to the desk again to see if I could change my stay to one night rather than the two I had booked, which was accommodated. I then left the hotel for dinner and tried to stay out as long as possible because of how gross the room was, and after returning begrudgingly, I found more and more bugs on the dresser, near the bed, crawling on the mirrors, and the desk chair. I had already decided I couldn't shower there but when the roaches were near my bag, which I kept on the dresser to avoid the nasty carpet, I ran downstairs to check out. Neither employee seemed fazed by my descriptions of the squalor and told me because I had been checked in for six hours, I couldn't get my refund for that night. When I asked for help finding another place to stay, one of the employees shrugged his shoulders and laughed at my request. I was fortunate to be able to book a room at Red Roof Inn across the street which is newly renovated.
